In his opening remark, the veteran journalist said that the school is now the property of the Federal Government and as such, the state have no hand in its affairs any longer.

"The commissioner for Education has addressed the matter this afternoon and it was well explained that the state government is not owing the staffs of Ekiadolor College of Education because the governor had been to Abuja to help the people change it to Federal University of Education and it is no longer the property of the state government."

"There are many Federal Institution in the state now; Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Federal University, Benin and Federal College of Education and if you go there now, you would see that the Federal Government is massively working there to put up structures."

"The problem these people have is that, work had stopped since the Federal Government took over the school; the Federal Government will start fresh recruitment and have told them to go bring their certificate so that they can be part of those to be considered first because they have been there before."

"To cut everything short, the commissioner for Education has confirmed that they are not been owed at all. The eleven months they are talking about is at when the school was closed down to enable smooth negotiation with the Federal Government on taking over the school."

"Then after the approval is when they started counting this eleven months because up until that time, their bills were cleared and you don't expect the government to continue paying."

"For the N-power, it is the Federal Government initiative formerly under the office of the Vice President so it has nothing to do with our government."
