Akeredolu emerge victorious in the Ondo APC primary election

Rotimi Akeredolu the Governor of Ondo state has emerged as the APC flag bearer for the Governorship election coming up in October 10, 2020. You will recall that up until few days ago, things were looking dicy for Akeredolu as some reports claimed that he (Akeredolu) has been disqualified from participating in the APC primary election but things seem to be smooth for the Governor right now.

Akeredolu emerged the party flag bearer by beating eight (8) other candidates in the party primaries. Four candidates had stepped down and pull their weight behind Akeredolu to win this primary election, most notably Segun Abraham.

Akeredolu polled 2,765 votes to emerge victorious, Olusola Oke and Hon Isaac Kekemake pulled 262 and 19 respectively while the other candidates had between 0-9 votes, it was a landslide victory for Aketi not just because of the gap between him and other candidates alone but for the fact that he won in all local governments. A total number of 3,127 delegates across eighteen (18) local governments were accredited to participate in the primary election.

Akeredolu will be slugging it out with other yet to be known party candidates in the October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo state.
