Aregbesola Commends Tinubu’s victory, says it’s call to duty

The former governor of Osun State and the current Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in the Saturday presidential election.


Aregbesola's message joins the many congratulations received by Tinubu following his victory.


Tinubu, who received over eight million votes, was awarded his Certificate of Return on Wednesday alongside his vice president-elect, Kashim Shettima.

The election which Tinubu wins with the vote numbers of 8,794,726 votes, almost two million more than his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar, who got 6,984,520 votes, while the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, finished the race with 6,101,533 votes.


In a statement, Aregbesola said, "This victory is a call to duty, and you deserve all commendations, as we give glory to God for His mercy."


He went on to highlight the importance of continuing the progress made by President Muhammadu Buhari's government and ensuring Nigeria fulfills its historic responsibility to Africans and the Black Race.
