"Nigeria needs serious prayers to overcome its challenges" - Deputy Senate President

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has reportedly disclosed that Nigeria needs serious prayers to overcome the myriad of problems facing it.

According to him, the challenges facing the nation would better be confronted if Nigerians should renew their faith in God and intensify prayers for Nigeria.

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, made this statement while addressing the challenges facing the nation, on Tuesday, 19th October 2021, to mark Eid-El-Maulud (an Islamic celebration held annually to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad).

The Senator while wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Maulud Nabiyya celebration, urged them to use the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s birthday to deepen love, patience, and perseverance, adding that the challenges facing the nation would better be confronted if such qualities were imbibed by all.

He further called on the Muslim community to use the occasion to reflect on the essential lessons of the prophet’s life and pray for sustained peace in the country.

Part of the statement read: “I call on Muslims to embrace the exemplary conduct of Prophet Muhammad so as to ensure the growth and development of the country. They should also imbibe peaceful co-existence with people of other faith.”
