1. North vs South: APC In Major Crisis Over Presidential Candidate – Buba Galadima

A former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Buba Galadima has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) was divided over the selection of its presidential candidate in the 2023 election.

Speaking while featuring on AIT’s ‘Focus Nigeria’ programme on Wednesday, the former APC stalwart said the ruling party cannot reach a consensus on its candidate for the election.

Galadima said four members of the political party, two each from the north and south, have made an agreement to support each other.

Fani Kayode revealed his meeting with the Governor of Yobe state and chariman All Progressives Congress (APC). He said, "A great afternoon and an extraordinary, fruitful and productive series of meetings with Governor Mai Buni of Yobe state who is the National Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee and a great friend and brother. The struggle to save Nigeria and move her forward continues.

He continued further by saying, "We shall continue to meet, collaborate, work closely together and interact and we shall remove every obstacle, climb every mountain and level every valley until we achieve our collective objective of peace, love, joy, unity and progress in our great and beloved country."

3. Boko Haram: Nigerian Air Force Combat Aircraft ‘Disappears’

The Nigerian Air Force has declared one of its aircraft lost radar contact when on a mission.

In a statement on Wednesday, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said the plane was “on routine mission in support of own troops at one of the Theatres of Operation in the Northern part of Nigeria”.

“Efforts are currently ongoing to locate its whereabouts. Details to follow”.

4. EBONYI MASSACRE: Fight back with vigilantes, Umahi orders LG chairmen

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State yesterday ordered the 13 local government council chairmen in the state to immediately form vigilante groups and ensure placement of cross bars at strategic locations across communities in the state.

The measures, according to the state government is meant to forestal futher breakdown of law and order in the affected communities and the state at large.

The governor gave the order against the backdrop of Monday’s attack of four communities in the state by herdsmen who killed at least 18 persons, including a Methodist priest, while several others were injured.

He spoke as a survivor narrated how how the herdersalso abducted some women in the communities who are yet to be found.

5. N7bn Bribe: I Did Not Receive ‘Pure’ Water From Obiano – Peter Obi

A former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has dismissed reports that he demanded N7bn for installing the state governor, Willie Obiano.

According to the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice presidential canidate, he has not received even a sachet water since leaving office seven years ago.

He stated this while speaking at an interactive/stakeholders’ meeting of the Anambra State chapter of the PDP held in Awka, the state capital on Wednesday.

The former banking guru wondered how he could have left N75bn for Obaino and turn around to ask him to give him N7bn out of it.
