Check Out What The Yobe State Government Gave To Fire Incident Victims Barely 24 Hours After Report

The Yobe State Government under the leadership of Hon. Mai Mala Buni has supported victims of fire incident in Shefuri Community in Gambir ward of Damaturu local government area of the state with food and non-food items. The items were presented by Damaturu local government chairman and the ES of the State Emergency Management Agency to the affected households within the community as directed by the State Governor.

According to a leader in the community, this is the first time in over 5 decades they are witnessing this disaster, and the incident occurred when the men are out for juma'at prayers. The community leader thank almighty Allah that the inferno didn't claim any life, and further thanked the state government for coming to their rescue at this hard time. He further urged the kind-hearted governor to assist them to resettle back as the Ramadan fasting and also farming period approaches.

Hon. Bukar Adamu is the Executive Chairman of Damaturu local government, who console the affected households, and further stated that the Governor has given the items not to be sold and nobody should come to ask for anything after the distribution process. While presenting the items, ES SEMA informed the affected households that with available resources in their possession, they are committed to ensure they have resettled in their homes in due time.

Below are food and non-food items received by each household;

1. Mattress 3-4

2. Poly mats 4-5

3. Clothes 

4. Plastic shoes 

5. Plastic buckets

6. Wrappers 3-4 pcs

7. Mosquito nets 7

8. Children clothe 7-9

9. Wash kits (soap, water container, kettle, detergents, cup, plates)

10. Bag of rice and bag of beans.
