Rochas Foundation College, Orji, in Owerri, the state capital, was sealed by the Imo State Government on Tuesday.
Officials from the government arrived at the Imo Broadcasting Corporation's old employee quarters and shut it.
The enormous property had been taken over by the state government, according to our correspondent who visited the location.
Modestus Nwamkpa, the governor of Imo State's Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, verified the news and stated that the governor, Hope Uzodinma, was committed to reclaiming state properties allegedly "looted by Okorocha and his family members."
The governor, according to Nwamkpa, is putting the suggestions of several White Papers into action through state-appointed committees.
When questioned, a governor's adviser said the seal off "is real," adding that "Governor Hope Uzodinma is determined to recovering any stolen public properties." This is not a personal conflict; rather, it is the implementation of the written recommendations of the many government committees.”
When contacted, Okorocha's spokesman, Sam Onwuemeodo, said Uzodinma was taken aback by Okorocha's immense political power.
“This is the fourth time the Imo State Government has announced that they will seal that place,” Okorocha's assistant claimed. The EFCC had also stated that it had been sealed, but Uzodinma has to wake up. In the state, there is famine.
“This is simply a resumption of his assault on Okorocha, who recently visited the APC National Secretariat with other powerful APC chieftains from Imo State. When Uzodinma realises that the people are dissatisfied with his leadership style, he invokes Okorocha's name to divert attention away from the fact that poverty and hunger abound. He ought to be modest enough to seek Okorocha's advice on how to run the state.”
