See who will be declared the winner of Ondo state APC primary elections

The much anticipated primary elections of the All Progressives Congress has finally come to an end. Currently, collation is ongoing at the international event centre, the Dome in Akure, the state capital and with all indications, a winner has emerged. Prior to this day, several agitations were raised concerning the mode of primary to adopt. Finally, the ruling party concluded in using an indirect primary election method. Recall that 12 aspirants were screened to participate in the primary election but a day to the election, one of the aspirants, Mr Ife Oyedele stepped down to support Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Just some few hours to conduct the primary election, Dr Olusegun Abraham, Jimi Odimayo and Dr Nathaniel Adojutelegan equally stepped down for Akeredolu. The governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State commenced exactly 2:00 pm on Monday with some aspirants shunning the venue.

Among other 8 aspirants that contested in the primary, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is currently leading the battle. Out of the 3,127 delegates that voted, Indications shows that he may be winning with over 1500 votes.

The official pronouncement will be made by the chairman of Ondo State All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship Primary Election Committee, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

Akeredolu contested alongside with Olusola Oke, Olayide Adelami, Isaac Kekemeke, Jumoke Anifowose, Sola Iji, Awodeyi Akinsehinwa and Bukola Adetula.

It was gathered that a total of 3,127 delegates participated in the voting process. The winner will now be the party's flag bearer for the October 10 governorship election in the state.



The Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship Primary Election in Ondo State, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, on Monday, said the committee was satisfied with the electoral process.
