Shehu Sani Reacts To Release Of Zamfara Emir By Bandits In Kaduna

After 32 days in the kidnapper's den, Hassan Atto, Emir of Bungudu in Zamfara, has regained his freedom.

The first class monarch was abducted on the Kaduna-Abuja Highway on September 14, 2021. A police officer and one other person were killed during the incident. 

The Emir was freed by the kidnappers on Saturday, October 16, 2021. 

In a statement released on Sunday, October 17, 2021, the Bungudu Emirate thanked the Kaduna and Zamfara Governments for their support. 

The Emirate also thanked the Nigerian Police Force and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association for securing the release of the Emir. 

Reacting to the development on Monday, October 18, 2021, Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna senator, posted the picture of the Emir on his verified Twitter handle after he was released by the bandits. 

He said: "After a month in captivity in the hands of the Kaduna Bandits, the Emir of Bungudu, Zamfara state, is finally free. My prayers for his health."
