The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress in some states has continued despite the intervention of stakeholders of the party.
The intra-party crisis rocking the ruling party came to the fore on Saturday when factional chairmen were elected in some states.
In Kano State, the former Governor of the State and Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau has been at loggerhead with the incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje over the control of the party structure in Kano.

The APC crisis in Kano took a different turn on Saturday when the Shekarau G-7 faction held parallel congress and elected Ahmadu Haruna Danzago, as the factional chairman of APC in Kano State.
In Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe has been at loggerhead with the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi over the control of APC structure in the State.

Senator Abe-led faction went ahead to hold a parallel congress on Saturday and elected Golden Chioma as the factional chairman of the ruling party in the State.
According to a report by Daily Trust, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and Senator Magnus Abe have gone ahead to unveil their factional executives in Kano State and Rivers State respectively.
The report explained that Shekaru unveiled Danzago as “the newly elected chairman of APC in Kano” to the crowd in an event in Kano State on Tuesday.

On the other hand Senator, Abe-led factional executives were also inaugurated on Tuesday at Freedom House, a campaign secretariat set up by Senator Abe in Port Harcourt in 2019.
Recall that an earlier report had explained that the National Secretariat of APC stated that the party will not recognize all parallel congresses conducted in state chapters.
APC National Secretariat went further to describe masterminds of the parallel congresses as saboteurs and threatened to sanction them.
However, two things might happen after Senator Shekarau and Senator Abe unveiled their parallel executives.
Firstly, the issue might lead to court case because the factional executives claimed to be the authentic executives of the ruling party in the two states. There might be court case to determine the authentic executives of APC in Kano and Rivers State.

Secondly, if the ongoing crisis is not well managed, some aggrieved members might leave the party.
Remember that the National Secretariat of APC had already stated that it wouldn't recognize the parallel congresses in all state chapters, this might force some aggrieved members to leave the party unless APC wade into the issue and resolve it amicably.
