Dr Oscar Ofuka, Special Adviser to Gov. Ben Ayade on Cocoa Development and Control, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ofuka defected with over 1,000 of his supporters in Bendeghe Ward, Etung Local Government Area of (LGA) of the state at a ceremony on Thursday in Etung.

Speaking after his formal registration, Ofuka said his decision to dump PDP for APC was in solidarity with the governor, who left the PDP for APC.

Wike Threatens To Deduct Salaries Of JUSUN Workers

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said the state government will effect the ‘no-work-no-pay’ policy on judiciary workers for the first week of june.

This announcement is coming shortly after the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria called off its nationwide strike which lasted for two months.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri, Governor Wike said the action followed the refusal of the judiciary workers to comply with his directive for them to call off the action before the beginning of June.


FG To Commence Kaduna-Kano Rail Line Project

The federal government said the extension of the Abuja-Kaduna rail line to Kano will begin by end of June.

The minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, stated this during the official commissioning of the Lagos-Ibadan rail line project on Thursday in Lagos.

The minister also called for the maximum utilisation of the commissioned Lagos-Ibadan rail facility.


Police Debunk Alleged Invasion Of Ekiti Market By Armed Men

Ekiti Police Command has described the reported invasion of Shasha market in Ado-Ekiti by armed Hausa/Fulani persons as false.

A statement issued on Thursday by Mr Sunday Abutu, the command’s Public Relations Officer, said the report trending on social media was not just false but "a lie from the pit of hell".

He said that the report alleging that the marauding Hausa/Fulani persons were armed with AK-47 rifles and other weapons was fabricated and spread by enemies of the society to cause unnecessary panic in the state.


Omokri Speaks About Buhari's Threats On Southeast

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s threat against secessionists in the Southeast.

Omokri said Nigerians should blame Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Buhari’s threat against the Southeast.

Buhari had vowed to treat the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in ways they would understand.

However, Omokri berated Buhari for issuing such a threat.
