Ize-Iyamu Finally 'Accepts' Defeat As He Congratulates Obaseki On Supreme Court Victory

The candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the 2020 elections held in Edo finally accepts defeat as he congratulates Governor Obaseki on his supreme Court victory.

The supreme Court on Friday dismissed the certificate forgery suit filed against Obaseki by the All Progressive Congress for lacking in merit.

Ize-Iyamu in a letter sent to the governor, says the judgement of the supreme Court has put an end to the series of court cases on the gubernatorial poll that brought Obaseki into power for his second term. He asked him to accept his congratulations since all the cases are now over.

Ize-Iyamu who disclosed that APC had only one cases instituted against Obaseki, said the governor and his supporters had instituted 13 different pre-election cases against him and his deputy all seeking to disqualify them from contesting in the elections.

The APC candidate says his party did not deliberately go to the election tribunal not because they did not have any issues. He says it was because they felt it wise to allow Obaseki face the job at hand.

Ize-Iyamu however revealed that as the opposition party in the state, APC have a duty to ensure that Obaseki's government does the right thing always.
