The Reconciliation between the former Governor of Ekiti State, Fayose and the Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde will help Governor Makinde realize his Governorship ambition in 2023. Governor Seyi Makinde will be contesting for his second term in office under the Platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP. Recalled that Governor Makinde and Fayose were seriously fighting over who is going to take the mantle of Leadership in the southwest.
Meanwhile, the Party conducted her Congress in the southwest to produce new set of leaders. The two factions that are well known in the southwest is that of Governor Seyi Makinde and Fayose's faction. Governor Seyi Makinde Produced Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja who defeated Dr Eddy Olafeso who is from Fayose's faction. Earlier before the conduct of the Congress, Fayose has alleged the Leaders of the Party for not following the normal Protocols in conducting the Congress.
The Party Leaders at the Apex, have tried to unite the two factions together ahead the 2023 Polls in the southwest. All The Leaders of the Party in the southwest who belong to each of the faction have come together so as to bring back the glory of the Party. Both Governor Seyi Makinde and Fayose have embraced each other to work together in the Forthcoming Polls.
The 2023 election is fast approaching, and The Reconciliatory committee headed by the former senate President, Bukola Saraki have tried to mediate between the two factions to win the 2023 Polls. The Reconciliation between the two Leaders will not only help in the Forthcoming Presidential Polls but will also help in all the Polls conducted in all the states in the southwest.
How Makinde Fayose's Reconciliation May Help Governor Makinde's Second Term Governorship Ambition.
The Second Term Governorship Ambition of Governor Seyi Makinde may be easily influenced by the Reconciliation between Makinde and Fayose. Recalled that Governor Makinde and Fayose have settled their grievances with the help of some Leaders in the Party at the national level of the Party. The leaders of the Party were able to settle the rift between the two Leaders after the southwest Congress to select new set of Leaders.
All the leaders that belong to the former Governor's faction, Fayose will work together with Governor Seyi Makinde to realize his Governorship ambition. Governor Makinde has been be facing some challenges in the Party concerning the 2023 Governorship Polls in the State. It should be recalled that some Leaders of the Party in Oyo State have vowed not to work with Governor Seyi Makinde in 2023 Governorship Polls not until the rift between Fayose and Makinde were settled.
The likes of PDP chieftain in the Party, Oyo State chapter, Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan and some other Party's Bigwigs in the State have not been finding it easy to get along with Governor Seyi Makinde. This would have made it difficult for Seyi Makinde to reach to Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan and some leaders in the Party for 2023 Governorship Polls. But with the Reconciliation between the two Leaders in the southwest, The agrieved members of the Party in Oyo State, that may likely work against Governor Seyi Makinde will have a rethink and work for him, in next the Governorship Polls.
