According to a report by The Punch, an Islamic organization in Nigeria, Muslim Right Concern (MURIC), has made a few statements on their most preferred candidate to become the next President of Nigeria. The group made stated that they want the next president of Nigeria to be a Muslim and Yoruba Man.

Regarding to this ideology, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) also made a list of 8 people from the South Western part of Nigeria who are fit to takeover from President Muhammad Buhari as just like their idea, they were all Muslims and Yoruba by tribe.
The names of the 8 they choose includes, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Rauf Aregbesola, Muiz Banire, Ishaq Oloyede, Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, Fatai Buhari, Abdullateef Abdulhhakeem. Although, the people that were listed out by MURIC are fit to take over from Buhari but I will be sharing with you 2 reasons why I think they are wrong to have brought out that kind of list.
1. MURIC is an Islamic group, not a political party
The first reason why I think MURIC is wrong to have brought out that list is that they are known to be a group that fights for Muslims and it ought not to shift from organizing and fixing Islamic issues to nominating people to become next Nigeria's President. As a matter of fact, bringing out this kind of list can lead to conflict amongst political party members when it comes to choosing a flag bearer.
2. The list of names released by MURIC is capable of causing mayhem to the support system in the southwest politics.
With this name released by MURIC, a lot of Muslims will be looking at the possibilities of making a Yoruba and a Muslim man Buhari's successor but that will go a long way in affecting the votes from Southwest and as Christians will be looking to vote for a Christian and Vise Versa.
