Magnus Abe, an ally to the presidential candidate of the APC, has revealed more details regarding the Babachir-led committee that made recommendations during the process of picking a vice presidential candidate for the party. Speaking on TVC News, Abe revealed that Bola Tinubu had no hand in the inauguration of the committee as it was Babachir Lawal's initiative.
Addressing the topic, Magnus Abe said, "Bola Tinubu never inaugurated this committee; neither did he attend any of our meetings." Babachir Lawal called us together, and we created notes which our chairman, Babachir Lawal, was meant to pass to our principal, Tinubu. Sometimes, our discussions in the committee were different from what was passed on to Tinubu.
One of the interviewers, Sam Omatseye, said, "We learned that Babachir was informed of the committee's decisions, but he disagreed with them." From all you have said, it seems Babachir was trying to dictate to the committee or ignored the committee and passed on something else to Tinubu.Abe responded by saying, "That is exactly what happened. However, I told Tinubu that our discussions were different from what he had been told. These thoughts are irrelevant to where we are headed. We should be concerned about the numbers. I do not think that Babachir is effectively contributing to that conversation.
