Otunba Gbenga Daniel Defection is a big catch for the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun state and the Nigeria at large. The terms Governor of Ogun state, Governor Gbenga Daniel defected from his Former Party, The Peoples Democratic party PDP to the All Progressives Congress APC. It should be that former Governor Gbenga Daniel was the director General for the Atiku's Campaign Organization Committee in the last Governorship Polls.
Though the Presidential Polls that took place between the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakr and the candidate of the vAll Progressives Congress APC, President Muhammadu Buhari that brought Governor Gbenga Daniel to the limelight. Governor Daniel only Popular in his State but he was known when he became the Director General of Atiku's campaign committee.
Gbenga Daniel is a grassroot Politician who used his wisdom to ensured that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic party PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakr Popular in all the six Geopolitical zones of the country. The All Progressives Congress APC might not know the importance of his Defection until the time of election.
The APC will not undergo much stress in the future election both in the state and at the federal Level. It should be recalled that the Former Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel became the Governor of the state during the time of President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003 and since then, he has been relevant in Politics of Ogun State.
Daniel's Defection, A Big Catch For The APC
The All Progressives Congress APC Ogun State chapter has catched a big fish with the Former Governor Gbenga Daniel defection to the Party. The Party may not know the importance of Governor Daniel's defection to the ruling APC until the next Governorship election in the state. Governor Daniel as he used to be called OGD is grassroot Politician who can easily help the APC to win Governorship election in Ogun State.
Though, The All Progressives Congress APC in the state have been winning the Governorship election in the state but with the defection of Otunba Gbenga Daniel, it will be very easy for the APC to win the next Governorship election in the state. Apart from the fact that Governor Daniel will help the APC to win future election in the state, he will also help the neighborhing states with residual influence in those states to win future election.
It should be recalled that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is from Ogun State and he worked for the Peoples Democratic party PDP in Ogun State but now that Otunba Gbenga Daniel has defected to the APC, former President Olusegun Obasanjo may not have too much strength to work Against the APC in the state. OGD defection is blessing to the All Progressives Congress APC in Ogun State and in Nigeria at large.
