The Buhari administration has reacted to the recent coup d'état that took place in Guinea.
In a statement signed by Mrs. Esther Sunsuwa, the spokesperson ministry of foreign affairs, his regime condemned the coup and requested that constitutional order should be restored in the country.

On Sunday, the military in Guinea said it has taken over the country and removed the democratically elected president. Condemning the coup, the Nigerian government said that I violated the ECOWAS protocol of democracy and good governance.

Parts of the statement read, “The government of Nigeria strongly condemns and rejects any unconstitutional change of government and therefore calls on those behind this coup to restore constitutional order without delay and protect all lives and properties.”
