As the fight against the dreaded coronavirus is still ongoing, Plateau state is recording more cases on a daily basis. It is quite disheartening how the number of confirmed cases in the state is on the increase on a daily basis, even with the effort put in place by the state governor to curtail the spread of the virus, the state is still said to be recorded more cases.
According to NCDC report last night on the number of confirmed cases in the country, it was reported that Plateau state was the third on the list after Lagos and Abuja with a total of 52 recorded cases in one day. However, the country recorded a total of 562 confirmed cases for 20th July 2020 from 21 states, the states and the number of cases recorded in each are as follows;
FCT-102, Lagos-100, Plateau-52, Kwara-50, Abia-47, Kaduna-35, Benue-34, Oyo-26, Ebonyi-24, Kano-16, Niger-15, Anambra-14, Gombe-12, Edo-11, Rivers-6, Nasarawa-5, Delta-5, Borno-3, Enugu- 2, Bauchi-2, Kebbi-1. This brings the summary of cases in the country as follows.
This is indeed bad news for the people of plateau state, the state seems to have come from the rear and overtaking other states that have recorded their index case before them. At this point, there is a need for the state government to go back to the drawing board to find out where they have gotten it all wrong, even if it means going back to the initial Lockdown imposed in the state.
The number of cases in the state seems to be on the increase since after the state lift the lockdown order and the way interstate travel ban has been lifted. This is a humble call to the government of Plateau state to rise up to the occasion and curtail the spread of this virus. According to the recent report, the total number of cases, discharged and deaths in Plateau state so far is as follows:
Total Confirmed Cases: 700
May God help us in Plateau State
