KADUNA UPDATE: Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, is chairing the second phase of security consultations, this time for the Kaduna South Senatorial District. In attendance are members of the national and state legislatures, local govt chairmen, and district heads from the zone.
Welcoming participants, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, expressed the hope that today’s meeting will help in mobilizing and sustaining a collective resolve to address the security challenges, eliminate or mitigate threats, protect communities and uphold the right of all citizens to live in peace.
The Deputy Governor acknowledged the individuals, security agencies, and other institutions that have played positive roles in advancing peace in the Kaduna South Senatorial District. She asked leaders to continue to promote adherence to the rule of law in all communities.
The state Ministry of Health has given an update on the Covid-19 status of the state. He drew attention to the surge in infections and the need for compliance with prevention protocols, especially wearing facemasks, washing hands, and avoiding large gatherings.
Commissioner-Internal Security, Samuel Aruwan, gave an overview of the security situation in the meeting.
Col DC Nwakonobi, commander Sector 7 of Operation Safe Haven, deployed in southern Kaduna, was in attendance.
