As N-power beneficiaries for batch A and batch B, awaiting their transition package from the Federal government, yet, the date for the transition has not been decided.
During the decision on the transition, the beneficiaries are promised to be given loan as their transition package at the end of their programme. Apart from loan, some beneficiaries are said to be absorbed by some organizations.
The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk has noted that she and her team are working to ensure a successful transition for the N-power.
Whereas, the guideline for the transition, is to conduct a psychometrics test for all the outgoing N-power beneficiaries in order to select among them, those that will benefit the transition package.
What is certain, is that, not all of the previous N-power beneficiaries will benefit the transition package, because, not all of them will pass the said test.
Instead of testing them, why government not organize a two week training for them on different aspect of learning vocationally, in order to allow many an them to have advantage of benefitting from the transition package.
In my own opinion, all the outgoing N-power beneficiaries are supposed to be rewarded equally. If going by that test, two -third of them may be denied.
The government should agree that, all outgoing N-power beneficiaries are having the same experience, many have nothing left after the programme to rely on. The only hope for them is this proposed transition package and if they are denied of being rewarded equally in transition, what do the government want them to be doing.
As the Honourable Minister and her team are working seriously to enable a successful transition, they should also take the entire outgoing N-power beneficiaries into consideration of being rewarded equally.
