1. Some kidnappers have abducted a 17-year-old daughter of Murtala Kore, the lawmaker representing the Danbatta Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly.

According to the PUNCH, the incident reportedly happened at the legislator’s home in Kore village, which is located in the Danbatta Local Government Area of the state.


Kore made known to Kano Focus, which is an online newspaper, that the attackers wanted to kidnap him but took away his daughter when they did not find him at home.


2. 20 persons have been killed by gunmen in fresh Kaduna community attack.

No more than twenty residents have lost their lives after unknown gunmen who were suspected to be Fulani herdsmen invaded Kukum Daji located in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.


The PUNCH gathered that, many of the residents also sustained varying degrees of injuries arising from the shooting.


3. Segun Abraham, who is part of the governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, has announced his discontinuation from the race.

It was revealed that, the aspirant, is said to be a close associate of National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu.

This recent development was confirmed by Kunle Adumashi, the Media Officer of Olusegun Abraham Campaign Organisation.


4. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has directed all tertiary institutions to begin the conduct of the first and second choice admissions from August 21.

This was made known via the 2020 admission guidelines which was released in Abuja by Dr Benjamin Fabian, the board Spokesperson.

in the guidelines, Dr Fabian, warned institutions against duplication of forms, adding that they should desist from selling forms for admissions into some listed programmes.
