Gunmen Strikes Again.
An nknown gunmen have abducted one person and injured three others in Pegi community in Abuja.
The incident occurred around 9:00pm on Friday when the victims were returning home from work.
SaharaReporters gathered that the kidnappers opened fire on the victims' cars when they refused to stop.
The Chairman of Pegi Community Development Association (PECDA), Isaac Aderibigbe, confirmed that one person was kidnapped and three others sustained gunshot injuries in the incident.
Those that were shot and later escaped are: Edwin Obiekwe, Shittu Adebayo and one Kola.
Meanwhile, the police spokesperson for the FCT, Yusuf Mariam, said on Sunday, that the command had rescued some victims and arrested six suspected kidnappers along Apo axis of the territory.
She said the suspects, who had earlier abducted three persons, were arrested by police operatives when the kidnappers were trying to relocate one of their victims.
Gunmen Attacks In Delta State.
SOME yet-to-be-identified gunmen have reportedly shot dead a mobile policeman along the NPA New Port area of Warri in Delta State.
The PUNCH gathered that the AK47 rifle of the slain cop was also carted away by the hoodlums currently on the police trail.
Eyewitnesses said the policeman was seeing someone off when he was gruesomely attacked.
He was said to have died on the spot.
When contacted on Sunday afternoon, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the killing of the mobile policeman Sunday afternoon.
Also on Saturday night, a young man was reportedly killed by gunmen in the Iyara axis of Warri metropolis in what sources said might not be unconnected with cult-related issues.
Another Popular Politician Dies.
An All Progressive Congress (APC) ward caretaker chairman in Benue State has been reportedly killed by some hoodlums.
The deceased, Tersoo Ahu was until his gruesome murder on Sunday, the APC caretaker chairman for Gboko South Council Ward.
It was gathered that Ahu was killed by some hoodlums at the venue of the training of ad-hoc staff expected to work during the revalidation/ registration of members of the party in Gboko.
A source who pleaded anonymity said the exercise actual revalidation/registration exercise is expected to commence on Tuesday.
He noted that while they were gathered at the venue of the training, the hoodlums suddenly stormed the premises and started causing mayhem which left several party faithful and shortlisted adhoc staff sustaining various degrees of injury.
The source said that the training was ongoing at a hotel located at the GRA area of Gboko when the hoodlums stormed the venue and demanded to know how they came about the selection of the adhoc staff.
He said the development generated to a heated argument which eventually led to open confrontation and a free for all fight resulting to the death of the ward chairman.
Contacted, State party Publicity Secretary, James Orgunga confirmed the death of the ward chairman saying Ahu was killed by hoodlums.
Rotimi Amaechi Speaks Again.
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Sunday, said only God knows who will take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
The former Governor of Rivers State stated this during an interview on Channels TV while explaining that he is focused on his ministerial assignment and would not want to be distracted.
Amaechi had earlier noted that the Kano-Maradi (Niger Republic) rail project will cost the Nigerian government $1.9bn.
The minister while speaking on how long it will take Nigeria to repay the loan, he noted that it is not within the jurisdiction of his ministry but noted that the railway project will commence on Tuesday.
According to him, the project was initiated based on national interest, stressing that it would open up the country for more investment.
