When Tinubu Was Gov Of Lagos, He Went To Anambra And Brought An Igbo Man To Serve In Lagos - Festus Keyamo

The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has said that Bola Asiwaju Tinubu was successful as the Governor of Lagos State because of the competent members of his cabinet that he was able to assemble.

He said that Tinubu went to different parts of the country to bring some of the best minds to work with him, and that even his Commissioner for Budget and Planning was from Anambra State. He stated this when he appeared he appeared on the programme Politics Today on Channels Television.

He said - "Let me tell you what Asiwaju did as Governor of Lagos State, he went outside of South-West, he went to the heartland of Igboland, Anambra State, and brought his Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Akabwueze, to come and head in Lagos. He went for the best in Anambra State."

He said that those who know how Lagos was before 1999 can attest to the change that has taken place in the state in the past years. And that the younger ones who do not know about how the state was before 1999 should ask questions from the older ones. He said that Lagos is what it is today because of serious planning by Bola Tinubu and other successive administrations who came and built on that blueprint.

He added that Lagos had an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of 600 million naira, but today it has risen to 51 billion naira monthly IGR.
