On Tuesday,the Presidency indicated that it was not in support of any national conference of the federating states in Nigeria.
He made this disclosure while delivering a speech during a forum of All Progressives Congress Professionals Forum which took place at the party national secretariat.
It should be noted that the groups in Nigeria that are allegely known to be advancing for a national conference include the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation,Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndi’gbo in the South-East and the Middle Belt Forum.
Shehu said that those advocating for a new Constitution should seize the opportunity provided by the Constitution Review Committee that was created by the National Assembly.
He went ahead to disclose that it is the National Assembly that has the constitutional powers to review the Constitution.
