In a statement released by Oloye Akin Alabi, the lawmaker representing Egbeda /Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, he revealed that he won the House of Assembly election, where he contested as the Lawmaker representing Egbeda /Ona-Ara Federal Constituency. He made this statement in reaction to claims from twitter users that he lost the election on Saturday.
In the statement he released via his twitter handle, he said, “I lost on twitter. I won in real life. There is a difference between the two”.

This statement from him led to a lot of reactions from Nigerians on twitter, as some have congratulated for winning the election. Reacting to it, a twitter user with the handle name 'Arabinrin Aderonke' commented, “Congratulations, Oloye. Don't forget to give your constituents more attention than social media celebs and influencers. Your legwork and goodwill off social media won it for you. I will not stop reminding you. Rate your constituents not only when you need votes”.
