Peter Obi is a well known Igbo politician and businessman,and one of the highly educated politicians in the South-East geopolitical zone. His full name is Peter Gregory Obi. Today,19th of July,marked his 59th birthday. Here are some of his life history and journey.
Early life and education
Peter Obi was born into a large Catholic Igbo family in Onitsha, Anambra state,in the Eastern part of Nigeria on the 19th of July 1961. Little is known about his family as he grew up in Onitsha alongside most of his siblings,with his elder sister Bibiana Adani(now late),and Fabian Obi prominent among others.
Peter Obi was forced to go into business at an early age of 9 because of the death of his father. He had his primary education at Santa Maria Primary School Onitsha,after which he proceeded to Christ The King College Onitsha(CKC),where he had some of his stuff education. He finished his secondary education at Father Joseph Secondary School in Aguleri.
During this times,he did some menial jobs like retailing of kerosene in bottles and designing of shoes and clothes to survive.

Peter Obi later headed to the University of Nigeria Nsukka,where he read philosophy from 1980-1984 and graduated with a B.A(Hons) in philosophy.
His love for business led him to the Lagos Business School Nigeria,where he did his Chief Executive Program, by which time he had become a full blown businessman. Other institutions he attended includes: Harvard Business School,Boston USA, Columbia Business School,New York USA,London School of Economics, Institute for management development, Switzerland, Cambridge University: George Business School, Kellogg Graduate School of Management,USA,and Oxford University.

Is a carbon copy of his father,with the high set cheek bones and flawless face that brings to mind the younger days of his father. Little information is found about this young man, except for the worthy fact that he is a graduate and he doesn't own a car,same with his sister. Peter Obi's daughter, Gabrielle got married to Nnamdi Umeofia,the son of the president/CEO of Erisco Food Limited on the Saturday,22nd of June 2019,at the church if Nativity Anglican Communion,Park View Estate,Ikoyi,Lagos State. Career and achievements
Peter Obi have had many achievements,but there are a few that are worthy of mention. Peter Obi served as running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the last 2019 general elections,but lost to the opposition party. He served as the governor of Anambra state starting from the 17th of March 2006. Impeachment and misunderstanding preceded his victory,but that won't be treated for now.
He was appointed the Chairman of the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC),by former president Goodluck Jonathan after the 2015 general elections. He also served as the youngest chairman of the Fidelity Bank plc,then the Chairman of Next International Nigeria Ltd,among others.
He had won numerous awards, including the Nigerian Library Golden Merit Award (2014), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's Best Performing Governor on Immunization In South-East Nigeria (2012), Champions Newspaper's Most Trustworthy Governor (2009),and many more too numerous to mention.
