Olawale Sadare, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter's public relations officer, claimed that Bola Tinubu, the party's presidential elect, benefited from the crisis in the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC leader suggested that Tinubu might not have won the presidential election if the PDP had not experienced a crisis.
In an interview with The Punch, Sadare said that although the crisis may have been awful for the PDP, it was actually a blessing in disguise for the APC.
They now know where they landed themselves, he continued. G-5 chose a course that would help Nigerians realise their common goals.
Perhaps Tinubu would not be in the spotlight today if the PDP had not become embroiled in the dispute. Thus, there was a reason for it. Additionally, the G-5 governors are politically ignorant; their involvement is malignant. PDP is not supposed to be a part of our political system; the group is evil and doesn't care about Nigerians, thus whatever bad things happen to them, they deserve them.
The five disgruntled governors on the PDP platform are known as the G5 or Integrity Group, and they are led by Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, who refused to support Atiku Abubakar as the party's presidential candidate.
They had demanded that Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP national chairman, step down in favour of a candidate from the south.
Before the upcoming governorship elections, the Oyo State APC spokesman discussed the party's engagement in an alliance with other political parties.
He stated, "Forging alliances with other parties is inevitable, and we have already done so with many interested political parties. However, I can assure you that immediately after we won the presidential election, our leaders swung into action, and this is going smoothly as far as we are concerned. Therefore, it is imperative that we win, and we cannot afford to take any chances.
"I can guarantee you that, by God's help, all interested parties are looking in the direction of our party, and we are confident that the state's residents won't be let down.
