OPINION: Why the Appointment Of New Board Members For EFCC by President Buhari is A Good Move

Today, the executive president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has moved on to appoint new board members for the anti-graft agency, EFCC.

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is an agency that fights the misappropriation of funds in the government and fraudulence in society. For a while now there has been speculation from the people stating that the EFCC has not been executing their job by probing people who are holding political posts with cases of corruption in their offices.

I believe that the decision taken by the president to appoint new Board Members for the anti-graft agency, EFCC is to make the body more effective and strong enough to go after corrupt people in the society, clean the country of corruption, and fraudulence.

The President appointed Mr. George Abang as the secretary of the board while he appointed Lukman Mohammed, Kola Adeshina, and Mohammed Yahaya were chosen to be the members of the board.

The appointments made by the president are currently under the scrutiny of the Senate for approval.
