"APC Not Creating One Party State" -Daniel

Gbenga Daniel, the former governor of Ogun State, has debunked arguments made in some quarters that the All Progressives Congress, APC, was attempting to establish a one-party state by luring members from other political parties.

Daniel, who met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, pointed out that the country was not a one-party state when the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was in the same place as the APC.

Buhari Congratulates Elumelu

On Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) congratulated Tony Elumelu, Chairman of the United Bank for Africa and Transcorp, on his 58th birthday.

President Muhammadu Buhari sent a congratulatory message to Tony Elumelu in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, titled, ‘President Buhari greets Tony Elumelu at 58.'

Governor Ortom Speaks 

Governor Samuel Ortom warned against politicizing the assassination attempt on his life by gunmen last Saturday in Tyo-Mu, a village on the outskirts of Makurdi town along the Makurdi-Gboko road.

He emphasized that the country's high level of instability was a strong indicator that Nigeria was sitting on a can of gunpowder and that everyone must be vigilant to avoid an implosion.

The Governor, speaking at the conclusion of an emergency State Security Council meeting in Makurdi, urged the people of Benue to remain calm while awaiting the outcome of the police investigation ordered by the Inspector General of Police, IGP.

Fayose Sends Strong Message To Buhari

Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, said on Monday night that President Muhammadu Buhari had disappointed Nigerians.

He went on to say that Nigerians are disappointed in him because he has failed to deliver on his promises.

On his official Twitter account, Fayose slammed former Ogun Governor Gbenga Daniels and former Speaker Dimeji Bankole for visiting Buhari, branding them as "political wanderers."

He said:”Nigerians are not involved in the President receiving political wanderers in the Villa. They are more interested in their well-being, particularly security.
