Ex-Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, Prof. Razaq Abubakre, believes former Osun Governor Gboyega Oyetola will reclaim his mandate.
The state's most notable indigene warned that those predicting disruption if the All Progressives Congress, APC, wins at the Supreme Court are merely boasting. "The PDP's threat of fire and brimstone if the APC wins the Supreme Court is a hollow threat," he told reporters.

According to the scholar, the security equipment, which is part of the governor's office paraphernalia, will not be available to Governor Ademola Adeleke in the near future.
Abubakre claimed that the PDP in Osun has adopted the violent posture of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN). He said that many lives were sacrificed in the struggle to elect Rauf Aregbesola as Governor, and that the state only enjoys calm "when progressives are in power."
"They murder their members during primaries." They murdered APC members and drove many to flee their homes." According to Abubakre, the situation allowed the PDP, "the unscrupulous umpire, and security allies to write whatever they wanted."
"However, ironclad records show that irregularities characterized the Osun governorship election," Abubakre claimed. He compared the PDP's intimidation of the Supreme Court to that of Peter Obi's running mate, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, which prompted Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka to condemn Labour Party (LP) supporters.
