Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour, a candidate for governor from the Labour Party, claims that Akinwunmi Ambode's four years as governor of Lagos state were not very productive. GRV asserts that Ambode was elected on a platform that was specifically created to meet the demands of the party's top leadership. He made it quite evident that a class of Lagos state politicians benefits from the state's mediocrity. He claimed that this is the cause of the increased opposition to the next election among a larger segment of Lagos voters. He believed that his godfather, who helped him gain power, might thwart a man's plans.
Many often inquire about how he plans to implement innovations in Lagos State because there has been a structure in place for more than 20 years. And to show why he was unable to bring forth meaningful reforms in Lagos State, I'll use Ambode as an example. It's because he entered through a very shady setup.
Also, he wanted to offer innovation and was focused on people and their interests. It doesn't work that way; it is not feasible. You can carry out your idea without using an auction if you have one. Because people who reside there benefit from Lagos' mediocrity. Despite coming from a different platform and bringing a new voter demographic to the polls, we are improving politics in Lagos State. When we go in this direction, we take this path, we can make things more efficient in Lagos state.''
