Before the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914 by the then Governor general of the Country, traditional rulers across all ethnic groups in the country have absolute power to command their subjects and also to call and becon on them without questioning.

With the amalgamation of the southern and northern protectorate , Monarch ceases to exercise absolute authority on their subjects. With the loss of their power and Authority, all traditional rulers no longer have a Political power on their subjects.

In the present day dispensation, the appointment or selections of traditional Ruler does not follow the natural causes of consulting the oracle, instead the nomination process hinges on how much you can afford to the king makers and the person that the political head of the domain wishes to ascend to the throne.

With the involvement of the Political leaders in the appointment of our Royal Father's to the throne, it has become somehow impossible to say what is right to the power that be , the recent dethronement of Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido by Political leadership is a pointer at this direction .

With the involvement of Cheif Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho in the fight again the eviction of killer herdsmen out of South-western region of Nigeria, a lot of issues had come up on this cause of Igboho, as Politicians and some quarters of our traditional ruler have given a contrary opinion about his actions.

With the recent visit of a prominent Yoruba monarch to the seat of power in Abuja and the comment that was given about the actions of Sunday Igboho concerning his involvement in the whole issue. The comment of this monarch has raised so many dust from different quarters and also a war of words from Igboho himself to the monarch. All the actions of some of our traditional rulers is pointing at the directions of he who plays the piper dictates the tune

The fear of not being quoted for a statement that has been found not supportive to the Government policies about an individual that the so call law of the land has not given a backup has been the main reason why the monarchs have been playing a double standard on this issue.

To the Politicians, their own selfish agenda have been the main reasons why they have refused to support what Igboho stands for in fighting the killer herdsmen, a cause that the Federal Government have not been able to find solution to.

With 2023 polls not too far away from the for the Politicians, what each of them now protect is the return ticket they are expecting from their different parties, any attempt for them to say anything good about the struggle of a person that have libel as a militant , will surely affect any of their Chance's at securing such a tickets that will return them back to their respective Offices. Hence the reasons why they have remained silent about what Sunday Igbohos struggle on killer herdsmen.
