Death, why is your sting so sharp? It has been reported that one of the close associate to the Nigerian president died on Monday. Before his death, he was a very popular man and his relationship with the Nigeria president is a close one.
Mallam Ismala Isa Funtua died of cardiac arrest(sudden and complete cessation of heartbeat resulting in the loss of effective circulation of the blood). One of the president's assistant confirmed this on his tweeted page, "Bashir Ahmad" who tweeted:
"Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un! Just heard about Mallam Ismalia Isa Funtua's sudden death!"
Buhari already consoled his families and relatives, this was also tweeted by Bashir Ahmad:
"President @MBuhari condoles with family members, government and people of Katsina state on the passing of his longtime friend and associate, Mallam Ismalia Isa Funtua. The president prays to Allah for repose of his soul and to grant the family strength, and fortitude to bear the loss".
The deceased was one of the founding member of Democrat Newspaper, that's not all. He was also the former president of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria.
Funtua was described as an influential man who holds power in his corridor. Before his death, his recent position was that of Chairman of the Bullet Construction company. According to the Islamic religious custom, he will be buried on Tuesday. The dead man isn't a fan of corruption, he is ready to oppose it to his last breath. No wonder he said this when he was alive:
"Death penalty is the best way to end corruption in Nigeria".
May his soul rest in peace. Like this post and drop a "RIP" for the deceased, and please follow me up also.
