Bishop David Oyedepo who is the founder of Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel on Tuesday described the controversial hate speech bill as a "Crazy Idea".
In the opening sermon of the church’s annual convention Shiloh, monitored by Opera News, holding in Canaanland in Otta, Ogun State, Bishop Oyedepo, criticised the Buhari government for its repressive policies and bad governance.
Bishop Oyedepo has, however, blasted the lawmakers for proposing the bill which has passed the first reading.
Speaking during the Winners’ Chapel 2019 Shiloh programme tagged Breaking Limits, Oyedepo wondered why the lawmakers have not introduced the death penalty to killers.
Oyedepo expressed his displeasure over the ongoing legislative process to enact the anti hate speech law stressed that Nigerians can be silenced by the ruling government.
The clergyman said that the hate speech bill is dead on arrival, adding that God is set to stop the wickedness of the wicked.
Oyedepo said he loves the country with a passion but expressed sadness at the turn of events in the country under the present administration.
