LP Crisis: Apapa Achieved His Mission Successfully At Yesterday's Election Tribunal - Rufai Oseni

As the internal crisis currently rocking the Labour Party continues to fester with each passing day, popular political analyst, Rufai Oseni has cautioned the party to be wary of the clandestine agenda being carried out by the Lamidi Apapa-led faction.

Recall that Apapa, who is the self-proclaimed acting National Chairman of the Labour Party, stormed the Election Petitions Tribunal on Wednesday with members of his faction to monitor the court proceedings on Peter Obi's petition challenging the APC's victory in the just-concluded presidential elections. Apapa's presence, however, led to a serious altercation as supporters of the Labour Party candidate mobbed the faction leader and his entourage.

Reacting to the incident during a telephone interview on Voice Of the People FM on Thursday, Rufai opined that despite being mobbed by Obidients, Apapa successfully carried out his intended mission at the Election Petitions Tribunal on Wednesday. Going further, the renowned ARISE Tv anchor warned that if the Labour Party does not put its house in order as quickly as possible, Apapa and his team would destroy the party completely.

He said; "If the Labour Party is not careful, Lamidi Apapa will destroy it. In fact, he is well on his way to destroying the party, and this factionalization of the LP is one of the major means to do it. I think Apapa intended to cause chaos in court yesterday and he achieved it successfully.

First and foremost, they caused distractions, secondly, they caused chaos, and thirdly, they caused absent-mindedness. And this is what is already happening to the Labour Party. The party needs to introspect and put its house in order or else, Apapa and his faction will destroy it."
