Meet Justice Sunday Omeiza Otu, The New Chief Justice Of Kogi State

Sunday Omeiza Otu was born 25th March 1956, in Okene local government area of Kogi State, North Central Nigeria. He attended the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he received a Law degree in 1979. Justice Sunday Omeiza Otu's appointment was moved by the House Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mr Bello Abdullahi, who is representing Ajaokuta constituency under the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC.
However, despite his appointment as the Chief Justice of Kogi State, the newly appointed Chief Judge may retire by the end of this week according to strong indications stated by Daily Trust newspapers. His appointment came after the retirement of Justice Henry Olusiyi as Chief Judge of the state in January this year.
Before his appointment as Substantive Chief Justice of the State, Justice Omeiza served in acting capacity from early January 2021.
