Amid palpable tension and anxiety, as regards the overall safety of Nigerians as they step out to exercise their civic duties in Saturday's presidential and senatorial elections, reactions have begun trailing a social media post made by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Lagos Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin in which he reiterated the readiness of the Force to provide adequate security for residents in the state.
Taking to his verified Twitter handle a few hours ago, Hundeyin shared footage from a helicopter patrol that was carried out by the police on Friday in preparation for Saturday's polls in Lagos.
Captioning the video, Hundeyin vowed that the Lagos Police Command is fully committed to ensuring free, fair, and credible elections in the state.
As expected, the tweet from the police image maker has drawn a flurry of mixed reactions from Nigerians online with many trooping to the comments section to air their opinions.
While some persons commended the efforts being made by the Force to ensure a safe environment for Lagosians on Saturday, others, however, argued that there are more effective ways in which aerial patrols could be carried out to forestall electoral violence.
