Presidency Remembers Mallam Abba Kyari Who Died A Year Ago

Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari has taken to his official twitter handle to remember the late Mallam Abba Kyari, former Chief of Staff to President Buhari, who died a year ago. 

According to Bashir Ahmad, Mallam Abba Kyari died from COVID-19 complications which he contracted in Germany while on an official assignment. Kyari died in a private hospital in Lagos. He prayed that his soul will rest in peace.

Kyari was born on 23 September 1952, to a Kanuri family from Borno . He attended St. Paul's College in Wusasa Zaria, and later considered joining the Nigerian Army following advice from Mamman Daura and Ibrahim Tahir.

He was appointed Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2015. Kyari was one of the most important person in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. During the administration's first term, he worked mainly behind the scenes to implement the president's agenda. Mallam Abba Kyari will be greatly missed.
