If you look critically, the reason why African countries are still where they are today after years of their Independence is not far-fetched. This is due to the fact that ineffective leadership has characterized the continent's governance over the years.

The major reason for this menace is that Africans don't choose their leaders logically, most often than not, they make insignificant basis such as religion, tribes, political party, gender and host of others in choosing leaders instead of competence and capabilities being their watchwords.

The most populous black nation on Earth, Nigeria is not left out of the web. Nigerian leaders over the years haven't really make any meaningful impact in the live of the common man, to say the least.

This is why I want to present to Nigerians as the 2023 presidential race draws nearer by the day who I think can turn things around for better in the country.

Born on the 13th of June, 1954 in Ogwashi-Ukwu to the family of family of Professor Chukwuka Okonjo in Delta state Nigeria, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had her education at Queen's School, Enugu, St. Anne's School, Molete, Ibadan and the International School Ibadan.

In this piece, I want to make known to you why Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the person that is most qualified for the office of the president come 2023. My reasons includes but not limited to the following;

Her Educational Qualifications;

To lead a nation effectively and effortlessly, one needs to be educationally sound. Being a graduate of Havard University and Massachusetts Institutes of Technology with lots of books to her name, including the famous " Fighting Corruption Is Dangerous" , Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is absolutely qualified academic-wise to be the president of Nigeria, if the truth must be told.

Her Expertise And Wealth Of Experience;

Dr. Ngozi served twice as Nigeria's Finance Minister from 2003-2006, 2011-2015 under the Chief Olusengun Obasanjo and Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's administration respectively. She was also a Managing Director at World Bank and a Member of the Board of Governors, African Development Bank among others.

As a world finance expert, economist and International development professional with over 30 years of experience working in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is more than capable of salvaging Nigeria's crippling economy if given the chance to lead this nation come 2023.

Her Anti-corruption Fight;

As we all know, corruption has eaten deep into the fabric of our society. As a matter of fact, it is the bane to Nigeria's development over the years.

Listed as one of the Transparency International's 8 Female Anti-corruption Fighters Who Inspire (2019), Dr. Ngozi is knowledgeable and passionate enough to put an end to the corruption culture in the country.

Her International Relationships And Influence;

As one of the 50 Greatest World Leaders (Fortune, 2015), the Top 100 Most Influential People in the World (TIME, 2014), the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in the World (Forbes, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) among others, Ngozi is undoubtedly in position to influence diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and the world Powers. This is what Nigeria actually needs at the moment to foster development in the country.

Her Philanthropic Gestures;

Dr. Ngozi has been involved in a lot of philanthropic works over the years as she has served at Mercy Corps, Rockefeller Foundation, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace among others.

She is also a Chair of the Board of GAVI, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, which has Immunized 680 million children globally and saved 10 million lives since its creation in 2000.

At this time of dwindling global oil prices, Nigeria needs a selfless individual who will not loot the nation's meagre resources at his/her disposal. Dr. Ngozi is also found worthy in this aspect.

With the above-mentioned facts, you cannot but agree with me that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the right person Nigerians should bring on board to help turn things around for better come 2023.
