"We Have Won"- Adamu Garba Reacted After FG Suspended Twitter Operation In Nigeria

Adamu Garba has taken to his Official Twitter handle to praise the federal government for suspending Twitter operation in Nigeria, saying we have won.

According to information revealed by a reliable social media platform called "Punch Newspapers", the federal government has considered suspending the use of a social media platform called Twitter, in Nigeria.

This information was made public by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Segun Adeyemo in Abuja on Friday, adding that continues use of the platform is capable of undermining Nigeria's corporate existence.

It could be recalled that Twitter deleted a tweet posted by the President, Muhammad Buhari, in which he threatened to deal with pro-Biafra groups blamed for escalating attack on the country, and security authorities.

The President while reacting to the attacks on police station, prisons, offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission, warned that those plotting against Nigeria would receive the shock of their lives adding that those misbehaving today are too young to understand the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War, and he will deal with them in the language they understand.

Muhammadu Buhari's tweet has sparked a lot of reactions from Nigerians as many of them subsequently reported the tweet to Twitter, and the micro logging site later deleted the post with a comment, "This Tweet Violated The Twitter Rules".

In response to this development, the minister revealed that the Buhari's administration has suspended the activities of Twitter in the country.

According to the statement titled, "FG Suspends Twitter's Operation in Nigeria", it says, "The Federal Government has suspected, indefinitely, the operation of the micro logging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria".
