The Federal Airport Authority Of Nigeria, (FAAN), have accussed the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, of refusing to use hand sanitizer at the Airport. FAAN also accussed Fintiri of refusing to get his temperature checked at the Airport.

Usage of hand sanitizer and checking of temperature at Airports are part of the security band public health protocols. These protocols were directed by the Federal Government through the Presidential Taskforce. These protocols were brought out to help contain the spread of Covid-19 in Nigeria.

According to FAAN, Governor Fintiri arrived Port Harcourt International Airport with eight other individuals. The Governor and the people he landed with all refused to use hand sanitizers or allow officials to check their temperature. According to reports, Fintiri’s and his team drove through the barricades up to the terminal building ignoring traffic and aviation security instructions.

FAAN also went on to criticize the actions of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri and his entire team. The agency described the actions of Finitiri as irresponsible and reckless. His actions also put the lives of other Airport users at risk. FAAN went on to state that everyone must respect the presidential order, which mandates everyone to follow the normal protocol of using sanitizers and checking of body temperature at Airports.
