First visit by a Bahraini foreign minister to Ukraine since diplomatic ties were established in 1992, Bahrain's Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The gathering represents a deepening of solidarity and cooperation between the two nations.
President Zelenskyy urged Bahrain to take part in the associated diplomatic process, including the upcoming Peace Summit, after Ukraine presented the "Ukrainian Peace Formula" to the world community. The forced repatriation of Ukrainian children to Russia and efforts to reunite them with their families were among topics covered at the meeting.
Zelenskyy thanked the Kingdom of Bahrain for standing up for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity throughout the continuing conflict with Russia by supporting pertinent UN General Assembly resolutions.
The two parties addressed cooperation in the humanitarian and commercial fields as well as Bahrain's prospective participation in post-war rehabilitation initiatives. Another significant area for concrete support was the demining of sizable tracts of Ukrainian terrain that had become polluted by mines as a result of conflicts.
