
The governor of Kano State Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has sacked his special advice on media Salihu Yakasai on Saturday because of statements he made on the president Muhammadu Buhari. This news was announced by the commissioner of information in the state. The governor thru its information commissioner said he regretted that the sacked media aid was unable to separate his personal opinions from official stands on certain matters. He said since Salihu do not believe in the government, he will not be allowed to continue in it hence the sack. Salihu was later arrested by security operatives after posting the statement against the president on a social media platform.
The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the actions that Nigeria operates on a democracy and every citizen has the right to express his or herself.
