In the midst of the ongoing protest in the nation, President Buhari is currently presiding over the over the National Security Council Meeting at the Council Chambers, the State House, Abuja. The gathering, which is right now in progress is been managed by the President from the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The information was posted on twitter by the Personal Assistant on New Media to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Bashir Ahmad.
Vice President (Yemi Osinbajo), Secretsry to the Government of the Federation (Boss Gida Mustapha), Chief of Staff, Defence Minister, the Service Chiefs, the IG of Police and other heads of the security agencies are all in attendance.
The gathering is holding in the midst of ongoing chaos in the country with requires the President to address Nigerians over the shooting of End SARS protesters in Lekki, Lagos State and other parts of the country. The protest which started as a peaceful one against police brutality turned violent after state security forces used lethal force against peaceful protesters.
Unfortunately, the President has continued to stay mute since the inception of this protest. Notwithstanding, some of the president’s aides and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have commented on his behalf as taking positions on the protest.
Hopefully, maybe the ongoing National Security Council Meeting will yield something good and probably the President may address the Nation soon.
