Zamfara State Governor have thought of a smart way to curb the rising Fulani Herdsmen threat and it might just work.Governor Bello has offered armed bandits in the state a reward of two cows for each AK 47 Rifle they surrender.
The Zamfara State Governor made this important message known on Thursday when he hosted important officers in the police force.It was reported that the Inspector General Of Police, Muhammad Adamu paid him a visit alongside heads of top units in the military and police force.
The governor disclosed this message and also added that the armed bandits have always cherished cows that's why cows were chosen as a means of compensation.The governor also added that the group need Cows to advance their economic interest which would prompt them to surrender their arms and seek peace.
He also made it clear that every repentant bandit would get two cows if he submits his AK 47 Rifle and accept to join the society as a new leaf.The governor didn't choose the idea of giving them money because they might result in buying more weapons.He added that most of these bandits are leaving under the trees,caves and places not fit to live in,he advised that they should take the offer so they can rejoin the society and be empowered to start a new business and life
