Ismaila Isa Funtua OFR, mni was a Nigerian statesman who served as a Federal Minister in the Second Nigerian Republic.
Ismaila Isa Funtua was born in 1942 in the Funtua, Northern Region, but died this day 20 July 2020 (aged 78) in Abuja, Nigeria. He is a scholar of Ahmadu Bello University, University of Manchester, National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies. He is a known Administrator, high profile politician and a key member of the Kaduna Mafia.
He was a very influential figure in the Buhari administration, and a long time close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari; and a prominent member of the infamous Kaduna Mafia, a loose group of Nigerian businessmen, civil servants, intellectuals and military officers from Northern Nigeria.
From source, Isa Funtua is suspected to have died of cardiac arrest. He died on Monday night while meeting up his doctor's appointment.
He was however never not known to be seriously sick.
