Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has claimed that there are plots to rig the 2023 general elections.
Wike made this allegation during a church service in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
According to him, “Other countries are talking about how their elections should be transparent. We are talking about how to rig the election in 2023. Simple thing! Transmit a result electronically to show transparency is a problem,”
He stated that the country should be more concerned about competing with developed countries while criticizing the lawmakers for accepting everything that comes from the presidency.
However, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has disagreed with the National Assembly by affirming that it has all the structures to successfully transmit the 2023 elections results electronically.
It is still unclear if the 2023 general elections would be transmitted electronically as there is no court ruling to back any of the views.
