The last may not have been heard regarding the conflict between Sen. Elisha Abbo and the leadership of the APC in Adamawa State. During a press address, the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Adamawa State, Mohamed Abdullah, revealed details of how Sen. Abbo allegedly masterminded the kidnap of Saidu Naira, the APC deputy chairman in the state.
Addressing the topic, Abdullah said, "The APC executives in Adamawa State and leaders at the LGA level have been informed regarding the attack on our deputy chairman, Saidu. The party leader was stabbed and beaten by attackers on Friday night during a stakeholders meeting in Mubi. He was later bundled into a vehicle and taken away after his car was looted and his properties were stolen.
He added, "He was dropped off in an unconscious state at a police station after the military intervened in the matter. The attack was allegedly masterminded by Sen. Elisha Abbo and his sponsored thugs. Saidu and the LGA chairman, who witnessed the incident, testified that Sen. Abbo orchestrated the attack. We condemn the senator's action and urge relevant security agencies to arrest and prosecute the culprits for kidnapping, attempted murder, and assault.
You may recall that Abbo was reportedly expelled from the APC in October 2022 before a Yola High Court sacked him as the senatorial candidate for Adamawa North ahead of the general election. The lingering conflict has since led to the call for the intervention of security agencies by APC in Adamawa.
