What Gov Bala Disclosed About Banditry In Bauchi That Could Be Helpful To Other Northern Govs

Amid the insecurity challenges ravaging the Northern part of the country, the able governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed has come out in a report from Daily Post to lament on the deteriorating security situation in the state as regards the activities of bandits in some parts of the state.

The governor further bemoaned how abductions and killings of innocent residents of Bauchi State have been on the increase lately especially in some rural communities where most of the residents of the state reside.

However, Governor Bala while delivering his statement disclosed one important information that could aid other state governments that are experiencing similar issues of banditry in their domains in tracking the root cause of their problems, and this article is meant to disclose that very point and how it could be helpful.

•The governor revealed that some local government and state ministry officials are in connivance with the ongoing situation in the North.

It's no longer news that there have been many speculations that some Northern elites and government officials are behind the ongoing banditry and terrorism in the North, as most of these cabals tend to exploit the insecurity situation in the region for their gains, unfortunately, Governor Bala's recent revelation has proved these speculations to be true.

Deliberating further, the governor disclosed that these officials tend to connive with these bandits to shortchange the people at the local government level, adding that he will not tolerate it again.

Consequently, with this being said it's not out of place to say that the governor's revelation will now serve as an eye-opener to other Northern governors who may be experiencing this same issue of banditry in their domains, thus the need to investigate what their local government officials and traditional institutions are really doing to curb banditry in their respective domains.
