Reno Omokri and Bola Ahmad Tinubu.
There has been growing speculations that concerning the presidential ambition of the former Governor of Lagos State, Tinubu. As the 2023 presidential election edges closer as the days goes by, the speculation regarding the alleged interest of Tinubu to run for the 2023 presidential election under APC keeps on growing. Reno Omokri has now come out to blast Tinubu for sharing branded rice to Kano residents.
Reno Omokri claimed that the decision of Tinubu to share the branded rice which had his face and name on it is an obvious indication that he is already campaigning for the 2023 presidential ticket. Reno Omokri blasted Tinubu for not sharing the branded rice during the lockdown period which saw millions of Nigerian homes go hungry for months. According to Reno Omokri, Bola Tinubu refused to share the branded rice to Kano people during lockdown. But now that he has unveiled his presidential ambition, he is sharing rice to them.
According to Reno Omokri, what Nigeria needs is good leadership and not sharing of rice. Nonetheless, the people of Kano State will surely accept the good gesture shown to them by Bola Tinubu through the rice he is sharing. In most situations, people accept gifts from politicians because they don't have enough money to afford buying those food items themselves. The people are not to blame for accepting a gift which had been willingly given to them.
However, Reno Omokri has a good point when he said that what Nigeria needs now is not a leader who knows how to share rice to the people. What Nigeria really need is a leader who can make the economy of the country to be better, so that the people can start earning a living and be able to buy the rice themselves instead of waiting for someone to give them free gifts.
